Our Story: Why We Built Bam Good Time

How one organizer's struggle to manage her mahjong club led to a platform built for every club organizer.

(Heather to personalize this draft with her own voice and details.)

It Started at the Kitchen Table

Running a mahjong club shouldn't require a spreadsheet, a text chain, a payment app, and a prayer. But for years, that's exactly what it took.

Heather started hosting mahjong nights in Columbus, Georgia — a few tables, some friends, the click of tiles. It grew. Then it grew more. Suddenly she was juggling RSVPs across text messages, tracking payments in a notebook, and trying to remember who needed a ride.

The Breaking Point

There's a moment every club organizer hits: the moment you realize you're spending more time managing the club than enjoying it. For Heather, it was a Tuesday night — 30 players, a waitlist she'd lost track of, and two people who showed up to the wrong location.

Building the Solution

Sterling saw the chaos and thought: there has to be a better way. As a software engineer, he started building tools to help — first a simple event page, then registration, then payments. Each feature was born from a real problem Heather faced that week.

That became Bam Good Time — a platform built specifically for mahjong club organizers, by people who actually run a mahjong club.

What We Believe

We believe in anything that gets people out of their houses and around a table together. Mahjong does that. And organizers like Heather make that happen. They deserve tools that make it easier, not harder.

Try It

If you run a mahjong club — or want to start one — create your free account and see how it feels. If you just want to play, find a club near you.

We built this for Heather. We hope it helps you too.
